Bellagio: A Handwritten Script for Creative Projects

It started with a blank brand board and a client who wanted something warm, personal, and modern. I was tasked with designing a visual identity for a small café that felt like a neighborhood gathering spot—cozy, inviting, and full of character. After trying several fonts, I landed on Bellagio, a modern handwritten script font created by Byuly Ayika. Its flowing strokes and subtle imperfections gave the project the human touch it needed.

Bellagio for Branding and Logo Design

Bellagio is a Script Handwritten font that feels both elegant and approachable. Its fluid lines and natural variation make it perfect for logos that need to feel authentic rather than overly polished. When I first tested it on a logo draft, I noticed how the font’s OpenType features allowed for easy customization—alternate characters and ligatures made it simple to adjust the look without losing the font’s personality.

The font’s design gives a sense of movement, which is ideal for brands looking to convey creativity or craftsmanship. Whether it’s a café name, a skincare label, or a boutique logo, Bellagio adds a soft, handcrafted quality that stands out from more rigid typefaces.

Using Bellagio in Packaging and Product Labels

Once the logo was set, I moved on to packaging design. Bellagio worked well on product labels, especially when paired with a clean sans serif for contrast. The font’s readability made it suitable for short text, like ingredient lists or taglines, while its visual appeal added a premium feel to the overall design.

I found that Bellagio shines when used in small doses. It’s not meant to be the main body text of a brochure or website, but as a highlight or accent. On a coffee bag or a handmade soap label, it brought a sense of care and attention to detail that aligned perfectly with the brand’s values.

Bellagio for Social Media Graphics and Web Headers

When it came to social media graphics, Bellagio was a game-changer. Its dynamic flow made it ideal for Instagram posts, Facebook banners, and Twitter headers. I used it for captions and headlines, where its expressive nature helped draw attention without overwhelming the viewer.

On a website header, Bellagio added a personal touch that felt more engaging than a standard sans serif. It worked best when paired with a complementary font—like a serif for body text or a bold sans for subheadings. This pairing helped maintain visual balance while keeping the design fresh and modern.

Bellagio for Editorial Design and Print Materials

For editorial design, such as a magazine spread or a newsletter, Bellagio served as an excellent headline font. Its handwritten style gave a sense of intimacy and storytelling, making it perfect for articles about local businesses, creative processes, or community events.

In print materials like flyers and posters, Bellagio added a unique flair that made the designs stand out. I found that using it for key phrases or event titles helped guide the reader’s eye and create a more memorable visual experience.

Bellagio for Digital Templates and Merchandise

As part of the branding project, I also designed digital templates for the café’s website and email campaigns. Bellagio was used in hero sections and call-to-action buttons, where its expressive style helped reinforce the brand’s identity. It didn’t overpower the content but instead added a subtle layer of personality that resonated with the target audience.

Merchandise like T-shirts and mugs also benefited from Bellagio. Its handwritten aesthetic made it ideal for slogans and taglines, giving the products a custom, artisanal feel. The font’s versatility allowed it to work across different formats, from large-scale prints to small text blocks.

Bellagio for Font Pairing and Style Customization

One of the things I appreciated most about Bellagio was its flexibility. The font includes multiple weights and alternate characters, which made it easier to experiment with different styles. I often switched between regular and bold versions depending on the context, ensuring that the typography remained consistent across all materials.

Pairing Bellagio with other fonts was straightforward. I found that it worked well with both serif and sans serif typefaces, creating a balanced and professional look. For example, combining it with a classic serif font for body text helped maintain readability while allowing the script font to shine in headings and accents.

Bellagio for Commercial Use and Licensing

Before finalizing the project, I checked the font’s licensing details. Bellagio is available as a commercial font, which made it suitable for use in client projects. The file formats included were compatible with most design software, and the multilingual support ensured that the font could be used in various markets without issues.

Its OpenType features, like ligatures and alternates, gave me more control over the final design. This level of customization was essential for maintaining a cohesive brand identity across different platforms and materials.

Bellagio for Real-World Design Projects

Throughout the project, Bellagio proved to be a reliable and versatile choice. It added a personal, artistic touch to every element of the brand, from the logo to the social media posts. Its handwritten style made the brand feel more connected to its audience, which was exactly what the client wanted.

Whether you're working on a café, a skincare line, or a creative studio, Bellagio offers a fresh and modern alternative to traditional script fonts. Its combination of elegance and approachability makes it a valuable addition to any designer’s toolkit, especially when working on projects that require a human touch.
